Conversion

$1,000, and that includes a full Bolex CLA. Same price for C-mount turret cameras (Rex) and Bolex bayonet cameras (SBM, EBM, EL). The conversion itself needs no new parts. If the CLA turns up worn or broken parts, we quote them and get your approval before doing anything.

We convert Rex-1 through Rex-5 (C-mount turret), plus SBM, EBM and EL (Bolex bayonet). Unfortunately, at this time we don’t convert non-reflex models. Not sure about yours? Send us photos and the serial number through the conversion request form — you can upload photos right in the form.

Because that’s how the Bolex factory did it. Their Super 16 conversions were filed by hand, on the camera’s own gate. We own original factory-converted cameras and recreate that mod 1:1. A machined replacement gate is a different camera; ours is still the one Bolex built.

Not every lens does. Super 16 uses a wider frame than regular 16, and some lenses designed for regular 16 won’t cover it. We rent 16mm lenses that do.

Turnaround is typically 4 weeks from the date payment is received. Rush service may be available — mention your deadline when you reach out.

Every camera is tested before it leaves our bench, and the work carries a 60-day functional warranty on the specific work performed (labor only). It doesn’t cover drops, moisture, misuse, improper voltage, or normal wear. Shipping and any parts needed for a warranty repair are the customer’s responsibility.
